YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The road sales representative is responsible for travelling to different regions to meet customers, present products and close sales, while building long-term partnership relationships.
Main responsibilities:
- Contact and meet with customers to provide information, promote business opportunities, and identify their needs;
- Recommend and promote Trovac products and services, demonstrating their features and benefits to overcome objections and close sales;
- Respond to customer emails and calls and ensure constant follow-up and document all communication in the CRM;
- Follow up on website and supplier recommendations, and prepare quotations for inquiries;
- Assist administration and operations departments with retailer issues, and help organize trade shows and promotional activities;
- Actively participate in team meetings, workshops and training sessions.
YOUR PROFILE
- Minimum of 3 years experience in an on-the-road sales role;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, bilingualism is an asset;
- Valid driver's license and comfortable with frequent travel;
- Results-oriented, with proven ability to identify business opportunities;
- Excellent customer service skills, dynamic, energetic and able to work effectively in a team environment;
- Excellent stress management, multitasking and organizational skills, able to adapt to variable schedules.

DEFINITION
Reporting directly to the Sales Manager - Western Canada, the incumbent is responsible for establishing and maintaining a network of current and potential clients across various markets. The incumbent is also responsible for proposing business solutions and developing trust-based partnership relationships with key clients.
The Sales Consultant Representative is directly accountable for developing annual revenue objectives, implementing a client retention strategy, and ensuring business growth with existing and potential partners. The main goal is to meet or exceed annual revenue targets by building partnerships with current clients and attracting new ones who are interested in learning more about the value offered by the organization.
The territory to be covered includes British Columbia and Alberta. There could be limited travel within Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
REPRESENTATION:
- Contribute to the training and education of our retail merchants.
- Contact clients to provide information, promote business opportunities, or schedule and confirm appointments.
- Identify client needs and provide relevant information to address their requests.
- Recognize business opportunities and recommend our products and services to clients.
- Recommend and promote Trovac products and services.
- Demonstrate product features and benefits.
- Overcome client objections and close sales.
- Respond to client emails and phone calls and ensure consistent follow-up.
- Follow up on recommendations received from the website and suppliers.
- Assist administrative and operations departments in resolving issues with retailers.
- Support merchants and businesses in organizing trade shows and other promotional activities, as needed.
- Assist with order entry and follow-up for all company dealers, as required.
- Respond to retailer and customer inquiries and prepare quotations.
- Organize and document all communications and activities in the company’s CRM system.
- Ensure the highest standards of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Establish and maintain strong business relationships with clients.
- Communicate client feedback to the sales and customer service teams when necessary.
- Actively participate in team meetings, workshops, off-site and individual training sessions.
- Ensure the creation and ongoing delivery of sales training programs to stay up to date with best commercial practices.
- Participate in various corporate or business events such as Home Shows.
- Perform any other tasks and assist management with special projects, as requested.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND MARKETING:
- Achieve sales gross margin growth and objectives within assigned areas.
- Identify new markets while remaining aware of new products.
- Keep management informed about market trends and competitors.
- Plan and implement promotional programs for authorized retailers.
- Monitor promotional activities and network communications.
CUSTOMER RETENTION IMPROVEMENT:
- Participate in business activities to ensure retention of existing Trovac clients.
- Understand the financial and service history of client accounts to identify new opportunities.
- Propose optimization of current service programs and conditions for existing clients.
SALES ACTIVITIES AND RESULTS:
- Develop and regularly present reports on sales and market trends.
- Communicate achievements and future actions.
- Maintain a weekly activity level that meets organizational requirements.
- Engage in activities that develop profitable business opportunities.
- Conduct strategic follow-ups according to the buying cycles of prospects and existing clients.
- Negotiate profitable agreements.
- Record development activities and efforts in the CRM system.
- Participate in on-site and off-site sales meetings, as requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Significant experience in consulting and representation.
- Ability to spend extended periods on the road, ranging from several days to a week.
